Heather Coghill is senior director of audience insights for Effectv, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable. In this role, she leads data-driven research, builds insightful narratives and creates actionable reports to educate internal and external stakeholders on marketplace trends in today’s evolving media landscape.
In addition to managing Effectv’s hallmark, semi-annual TV Viewership Report, which aggregates and analyzes viewing data based on 15 billion viewing hours at 17 million Comcast households across 65 markets, Heather partners with industry leading organizations to develop in-depth thought leadership pieces that utilize custom research, robust attribution methodologies and unique case studies.
Heather has 15 years of experience overseeing strategic research on broad and specific audience segments, including Gen Z, Millennials, women and multicultural audiences. Prior to joining Effectv in 2018, Heather spent nearly 10 years at ESPN, rising from senior research analyst to director of media intelligence, serving as research associate, manager of audience research, and associate director of ESPN Deportes and Hispanic research along the way.
Before ESPN, Heather was an associate researcher at WGBH, a radio station in Boston, and she began her career as a sales assistant at WFXT Boston 25.
In 2021, Heather was selected as one of Cynopsis Media’s Top Women in Media, in the Data & Research Trendsetters category.
Heather graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Communications. She resides in West Hartford, Connecticut with her family.
